How the KWFL Came to Be

I've been a Parrothead since 1977.  But for most of those years, I was also a lone palm.  None of my friends were Jimmy Buffett fans.  I went to concerts alone.

Then I got online in 1996, and found the Usenet newsgroup alt.fan.jimmy-buffett.  

There I discovered a motley crewe of wonderful people who welcomed me into their midst and shared their knowledge, their experiences, their jokes, and their many different definitions of Parrotheaddom.  The "regulars" on a.f.j-b in those days inspired the creation of the Key West Foreign Legion.  They appear in the stories.  The Tales are my gift to them ~ a "thank you" for their many kindnesses.

But the KWFL is for everyone who enjoys Jimmy Buffett's music.  No matter which albums or songs you like best or what you think a "true Parrothead" is, there is a place for you in this one particular harbor.
