This corner of HALF AFT is a home for my fan fiction. Fan fiction is the practice of writing original stories based on characters and universes created by others, usually in television shows, films, or books. Many years ago people wrote their own stories based on Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and Doyle's Sherlock Holmes; however, modern fanfiction really dates from the earliest days of the original Star Trek, when fans wrote tales based on Gene Roddenberry's characters. They mimeographed the stories, bound them into fanzines, and exchanged them at conventions and through the mail. Henry Jenkins named fanfic writers "textual poachers." Had I ever been subjected to prosecution for "poaching," my criminal record would have shipped platinum. I wrote my first fanfiction as a teenager in the 1960s, for "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." and the original "Star Trek," long before I discovered such things as organized media fandom or conventions or fanzines. I've written a lot of fanfiction over the past two decades, for Star Trek, Star Wars, and other fandoms. This site offers links to the stories I have written over the past several years. I wrote these stories because I love these characters. I hope you enjoy the tales. I
